Amy Adams;Jennifer LawrenceNew York Women in Film & Television’s 2014 Designing Women Awards will be held on June 18, 2014. The award honors women in costumes, hair and makeup design. Special guests include Jessica AlbaDenis Leary and Rose Byrne. The award for hair design will be presented to Kerrie Smith (Now You See Me, Behind the Candelabra, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, and the Denis Leary-created series Rescue Me). Smith is a frequent stylist for Michael Douglas, recently transforming him into Liberace in HBO’s Behind the Candelabra. Denis Leary will present the award to Smith. 

The award for makeup design will be presented to Evelyne Noraz (American Hustle, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Rachel Getting Married). Jessica Alba will be presenting the award to Noraz. They have worked together on such films as Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver SurferDear Eleanor and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. The award for costume design will be presented to Renée Ehrlich Kalfus (Annie, Chocolat, The Cider House Rules, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape). Rose Byrne recently worked with Kalfus in the upcoming musical film Annie and will present her with the award. Byrne was honored earlier this year with our sister chapter Women In Film’s Max Mara Face of the Future Award.

The Variety Ensemble Award will be presented to costume designer Emma Potter, hair stylist Erin Hicks and makeup artist Cheri Minns of The Angriest Man in BrooklynThe emcee for the event will be Michelle Williams, best known as a singer in Destiny’s Child with Beyoncé. A top gospel singer, Williams is also an ambassador for the American Heart Association‘s Power to End Stroke campaign, and has performed in Broadway musical tours; she will be a mentor on the upcoming Oxygen reality TV competition Fix My Choir.
